It really is a great class and great program. We got there a half hour before class starts to help set up for the craft, snack, and anything else that needs to be done. I felt a little lost about not knowing where things belong, the routines, etc, but Ms. Maureen is wonderful! All the kids are so lovable too. They are a great group of kids and for the most part all get along really well together. Out of 13 kids only two of them are boys, and they are typical little boys, one loves to chase the girls outside while the other one is looking for roaches & centipedes (this is Hawaii!). My snack was not popular, applesauce and string cheese, I was asked by one of the boys why I didn't bring crackers. He left the kitchen and announced to the class, "Well, she didn't bring us crackers". He cracked me up! I guess I failed on that one! And I have to brag, my Zoe was awesome in class. She's not one of the quiet ones that sits back and watches, yet she doesn't need to be center stage either. She participates in all the songs and stories and seems to truly enjoy herself. She follows the directions and knows the class routine like she has been there for months, not just barely 4 weeks! I am so proud! Since I was the class mom that meant that it was Zoe's special day and she got to stand up & be the leader for putting the date and correct color on the calendar, be the days meteorologist, and the special helper, she loved it!
I am totally impressed with our school. It is small, it is a converted duplex house on property that use to be Navy housing (now privately owned), it was recently completely renovated, so it is basically brand new. Plus, it is a perk with Fred being a Dept of Defense employee because enrollment is only open to military families or to civilian DoD employees (it is run by Navy MWR). We may not have access to the commissary, but we get to send our kids to Iroquois Point Co-op Preschool!
My next class day is on February 28th, should be fun as well.
